how do you go about teaching kids the value of effort using positive reinforcement?

I’ve been trying to teach my kids about the importance of effort lately. It seems like they focus so much on the final result and not enough on the hard work that goes into it. I really want them to grasp that putting in effort is just as valuable as winning or succeeding.

I’ve read that positive reinforcement can be effective, but I’m unsure how to put it into practice. Should I be praising their efforts instead of just the outcome? What types of rewards or recognition might encourage them to keep trying, especially when challenges arise?

Has anyone here had success with this approach? I’d love to hear your experiences!

My kids respond well when I notice the actual work they put in rather than just saying good job. Like pointing out how they practiced piano every day or kept trying that math problem even when it was frustrating. They seem to care more about effort now.
