I recently came across this app called Levelty and heard it might be good for teaching kids self-control. Has anyone used it before? I’m looking for ways to help my kids manage their emotions and reactions better, especially when they’re frustrated or upset. If you’ve tried Levelty, how exactly does it work for different situations? Any tips on getting started or making the most of it? Thanks!
We’ve used Levelty for about six months now. It’s been pretty good for teaching the kids about controlling their reactions. My son, who’s 14, was skeptical at first but now he actually likes using it.
One thing that helped was letting them choose which activities to do. They felt more in control that way. We also tied some of the app’s rewards to real-life privileges, which made it more meaningful for them.
I remember when my daughter got really upset about a math test. Instead of her usual meltdown, she used one of the breathing exercises from the app. It didn’t solve everything, but it was a start.
The app isn’t magic though. We still have our tough days. But it’s given us a common language to talk about emotions and self-control. That’s been really valuable for us as a family.
